How Finzap values each program
Fixed-value programs publish their redemption rates, so we use them directly. For variable programs with dynamic pricing we use a conservative median — the value a regular member can realistically get without expert-level award hunting, not a best-case sweet spot. Values were last verified in July 2026. When a program devalues, we record it in the devaluation tracker and update these figures.

PC Optimum points have a fixed value of 0.1 cents each: 10,000 points = $10 at Loblaws-banner stores and Shoppers Drug Mart. Redemption events (for example, redeem 70,000 points for $80) can temporarily push the value higher.
Why did my points lose value?
Loyalty programs periodically raise award prices without notice — a devaluation. The same flight simply starts costing more points. Our devaluation tracker records these changes for Canadian programs with the exact before-and-after prices and a source for every number.
Are these dollar values guaranteed?
No. Fixed-value programs (like PC Optimum or Scene+) publish their redemption rates, so those values hold as long as the program keeps its rate. Variable programs (like Aeroplan or Amex Membership Rewards) depend on how you redeem — our figures are conservative medians, not promises.
How do I get more value from my points?
Redeem the way each program prices best — usually travel portals or flight rewards — and avoid statement credits, which often pay 30–50% less per point. The calculator shows the best redemption for every program it tracks.
