About Finzap
We built Finzap because we were frustrated with Canadian credit card comparison sites that recommend everything.
Most comparison sites in Canada make money by featuring whoever pays the most. That means cards get recommended based on affiliate revenue, not fit.
Finzap was built differently. Every card review includes a specific weakness. Articles redirect readers away when a card isn't right for their situation. The breakeven math is shown explicitly — not just "great value for the right spender."
We launched in April 2026 with 33 Canadian credit cards reviewed and a growing library of practical guides. We're a small team and we're building this in public.
Our Values
Principles that guide our editorial and product decisions.
Editorial Independence
Our rankings are not for sale. Issuers cannot pay for a positive review or a higher ranking. Affiliate relationships are disclosed on every page.
Honest trade-offs
Every card we recommend has a documented weakness. If a card isn't right for a particular reader, we say so — and point them to something better.
Built for Canadians
Canadian credit cards have different rules, different income requirements, and different Quebec terms. Our data reflects that — we don't adapt US content for the Canadian market.
Always being improved
We're a new site. We'll make mistakes and fix them. If you spot outdated data or a card we're missing, use the contact page — we read every message.
Our Methodology
How we evaluate and maintain card rankings.
Research
We collect published issuer details and terms for each card and continuously check for updates.
Analysis
Cards are assessed across rewards value, fee burden, APR context, and practical use-case fit.
Review
We write transparent summaries with tradeoffs so users can choose based on their own priorities.
Maintenance
Published content is reviewed as issuer terms and market conditions change.
Got feedback?
We launched recently and we're actively looking for feedback from real Canadians. If something on the site is wrong, missing, or unclear — we want to know.
